These truths compel us to understand that humanity must now align with three other intelligences distinct from human intelligence: nature intelligence, artificial intelligence, Extraterrestrial intelligence. These four intelligences must be brought together creatively and purposefully for us to avoid ecological and civilizational cataclysm and ensure that the human future is secured as we learn to live harmoniously within the web of life. 

This brings our evolutionary journey to an unprecedented inflection point. We teeter on the brink of self destruction because Human intelligence is no longer in alignment with Nature intelligence. We are simultaneously on the cutting edge of the differentiation and intensification of intelligence with AI and ETs. The implications of these four intelligences interacting together are staggering at every level and will shape human identity and the human and planetary future in ways unimaginable from where we stand today. 

It is essential that humanity pauses and considers deeply what all this means. Only by connecting all the dots and putting all data points on the table will we be able to make sense of what is happening and successfully navigate our way through. These developments necessitate a radical upgrade of consciousness to enable humanity to respond in a way that ensures a flourishing future. We are not alone. We are in an ecology of advanced intelligences. How we now interact with them will shape our fate.

The most urgent of the four truths is accelerating planetary ecological collapse. This is where any analysis of our current ‘state of the world’ must begin— the reality of increasing ecological turbulence and human dysfunction at virtually every level. While there are certainly areas of human achievement and breakthroughs to be celebrated, the overriding megatrend is that chaos reigns and the center no longer holds. We are threatening each other with thermonuclear weapons and trade wars, geostrategic rivalries and social polarization are rife around the world, and we are savaging our planetary ecology without mercy. We spend more on war and destruction than human wellbeing and we have spewed in excess of 300 gigatons of CO2 into the atmosphere. We have broken through virtually every planetary boundary. We have pushed through the 1.5C temperature increase limit beyond which climate change becomes irreversible. Extreme weather events are buffeting communities all around the world as the global environment reels from overexploitation and massive pollution, affecting all of our daily lives. A million species are on the endangered species list with hundreds going extinct every day.  At virtually every level, our world is in distress.

As our destruction of nature advances, we are learning what indigenous and most cultures in Asia and the global south have known all along, that nature is intelligent. Only the West lost track of this truth. Our planet is alive, conscious, intentional and responsive. Our Earth is intelligent, something the physicist James Lovelock evidenced with his Gaia theory. To save ourselves, we must now learn to align with the intelligence of Mother Earth and regenerate the ecological systems that provide us with life. Her ways must become our ways. We need to blend our intelligence with Nature rather than use our intelligence to destroy her. This will require that each of us journey inward to heal ourselves while also healing our external world. The destruction of our world is the result of our inner spiritual malnourishment. 

Simultaneously, we have initiated what historian Yuval Harari calls the most consequential achievement in the entire history of our species – we have created Artificial Intelligence. Our intelligence has always been contained within our biology. Now we are extending our intelligence into machines, from biology to silicon. We are entering the Age of Multinodal Intelligence in which the intelligences we are creating are now developing distinct from and in ways superior to our own. AI as an independent intelligence will now co-evolve with human intelligence. Unregulated AI is rapidly changing human commerce, politics, science, and even culture and personal lives, the consequences of which are not known. It is now operating at levels far advanced from current human intelligence and is becoming a distinct entity in and of itself.

Simultaneously, the US government and senior individuals in the US military and intelligence communities are informing the world that “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena” (UAP) and “Non human intelligences” (NHI) are real and that we are not alone in the universe. Like AI, this reality fundamentally alters human perception and will radically reshape the human future. We have always been terrestrially oriented and now we are confronted by the reality that beings from other star systems and other dimensions are here with us and demonstrating advances in technology and consciousness we have no way of explaining. In almost every way, they are more advanced than we are at our current state of development. We are entering our Cosmic Moment even as we unleash the power of machine intelligence and suffer from increasing geostrategic rivalries, social disintegration and ecological collapse.  

Our predicament is that we do not collectively exhibit the level of consciousness required to solve these challenges. We urgently need to uplevel our collective consciousness. We are experiencing the most fundamental milestone in our collective history as a species and our intelligence and emotional capacities must be commensurate with our global challenges and the intelligences now challenging us or we will suffer accordingly.  

We can take some comfort from the fact that we have been here before.Throughout history, humanity has faced critical moments when our consciousness was challenged to expand. The Earth was once considered the center of the Universe and the Earth was considered flat. Then new data emerged and perceptions changed. Our perception widened to embrace new realities. Unlike these other moments, however, much of what we are facing today is of our own doing. Ironically, this makes it even more difficult to change because the consciousness that produces the problem cannot solve it. What we need is a new collective consciousness. 

Since every crisis represents an opportunity, connecting the dots between our human predicament, the AI revolution and the ET presence on Earth provides the necessary ingredients for the new consciousness we so urgently need to come into alignment again with Gaia intelligence. Essentially, we are being challenged to transition from being an apex species acting without restraint into a species that harmonizes with a larger ecology of intelligences within the web of life.

These considerations will shape the conversation we will have at the State of the World Forum. It is time for humanity to pause, take stock of what is actually happening, and then transform this fundamentally important conversation into actions that can help humanity ensure a flourishing and abundant future.
